Catering by Debbie

Built on good food, genuine people, and over 23 years of bringing the Howick community together.

Food has always been more than just a job; it’s been part of Debbie’s life since leaving school.

Her very first job was in an elegant coffee lounge at 246 Queen Street, where tea and plunger coffee were served in beautiful cups and saucers.

These left such an impression that Debbie later tracked down the very same set on Trade Me, and today, they are displayed in a china cabinet at Catering by Debbie, as a little reminder of where it all began.

Our secret recipe

While raising her children, Debbie decided to turn her love of creating great food into something more, and in 2003, she started her business, ‘Catering by Debbie.’

In 2013, Debbie found the perfect space on Elliot Street in Howick, Auckland, where she set up a commercial kitchen that has grown to become the heart of the business.

Over the years, she and her team have built wonderful relationships within the local community - something Debbie values deeply.

Supporting local people, community groups, and charities has always been an important part of who she is and how she runs the business.

Debbie is backed by a close-knit team of 12 staff who care about the business just as much as she does.

They are a team built on hard work, laughter, and loyalty, with a genuine love of crafting great food and bringing people together.

Introducing Debbie

When she manages to find a little spare time, Debbie can be found tending to her ever-growing collection of indoor plants, many of which have slowly made their way into the Elliot Street space.

But above all else, Debbie’s greatest joy has been becoming a Nana to two gorgeous little boys who live in London. She visits them whenever she can, usually a couple of times a year, and treasures every moment spent with them.
